Long, long ago, I was introduced to the world of weight training. Well, maybe I shouldn't say long, long ago? We'll just say some years ago. What I found surprising is just how much I enjoyed it. I was in college at the time and was training with a young man who was a competing body builder. He was extremely serious about training and I began to really love it as well. The changes I saw in my body were incredible! I kept it up for a while after college but at some point drifted away.
Fast forward x amount of years and I get the opportunity to photograph a young woman who's vision and talent as a strength and conditioning coach is so evident. Suddenly all of my memories and love for weight training filled my head with hopes for the future. :) Seriously though, it was a major motivation to begin again. I'm hoping that the term "muscle memory" is a real thing! :)
As evidenced by the photos you can see that Kiara is definitely headed in the right direction. One of the things that really stood out to me however is her genuine and kind disposition. I can imagine that her personality along with her talent will take her far into whatever field she finds interest.
While I'm feeling motivated, I decided to do a little research on the topic of weight training. Did you know that some of the benefits of lifting weights include:
- Lower body fat
- Improved athletic performance
- Less back pain, injury and arthritis
- Better mood, increased confidence

All of these are very motivating for me!
