Princess Mataya has arrived! Doesn’t her name just sound regal?
Back in April of this year I was asked to photograph this beautiful family as well as to capture some maternity portraits. They would soon be welcoming a little bundle of joy! Turns out their session was one month to the day that their precious baby girl would be born.
During the photo shoot I kept thinking about what a treat it would be to have three older brothers. Especially as a girl. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to photograph them as a family both before and after the arrival of baby girl.
During little Mataya’s newborn session it was so sweet how each brother carefully held little sis for their own individual portraits with her. I thought having each big brother have their own portrait was such a great idea! Imagine her looking back at these portraits years from now and seeing just how much she was already loved.

Of course Mom and Dad also got into the action. Photographing a newborn babies with parents is essential for me with any newborn session. I highly encourage my clients to do this. As we know, babies don’t stay tiny for too long. I think capturing images in those first couple of weeks after birth is a great way freeze time in a way.
Photographing this family of six was a real treat! I’m excited to see how little Mataya grows and no doubt becomes the ruler of her own kingdom. :)
